These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Monocles platform operated by Monocles AI, Inc. ("Monocles", "we", "us", or "our") at https://monocles.ai.

By using Monocles, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

1. Description of Service

Monocles is an AI-powered decision intelligence platform that helps businesses manage relationships, analyze communications, and streamline workflows. Features include:

• AI assistant for business intelligence
• CRM with contact and interaction tracking
• Email integration (Gmail) for communication analysis
• Document management and analysis
• Automated briefings and reporting

2. Account Registration

• You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You must be at least 18 years old to use Monocles.
• One person or organization may maintain multiple workspaces.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use Monocles for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to access other users' data without authorization
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the platform
• Use the platform to send spam or unsolicited communications
• Exceed reasonable usage limits or abuse API access
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation

4. Third-Party Integrations

When you connect third-party services (Gmail, Dropbox, etc.):

• You authorize Monocles to access data from those services as described in our Privacy Policy.
• You are responsible for complying with the third-party service's terms of use.
• You can disconnect any integration at any time.
• Email sending: Monocles will never send emails on your behalf without your explicit approval. All drafts require manual confirmation before sending.

5. AI-Generated Content

• Monocles uses AI to generate summaries, classifications, drafts, and recommendations.
• AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any AI output before acting on it.
• AI-generated email drafts are not sent automatically — you must explicitly approve each one.

6. Data Ownership

• Your Data: You retain ownership of all data you upload or connect to Monocles. We do not claim ownership of your content.
• License: You grant Monocles a limited license to process your data solely to provide the service.
• Deletion: You can request deletion of your data at any time. See our Privacy Policy for details.

7. Service Availability

• We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service.
• We may perform maintenance with reasonable notice.
• We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features with 30 days notice.

8. Payment and Billing

• Pricing and billing terms will be communicated separately.
• Free tier usage is subject to reasonable limits.
• We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• Monocles is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind.
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Monocles from any claims arising from your use of the platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party's rights.

11. Termination

• You may close your account at any time.
• We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms.
• Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases. Data deletion follows our Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
